Mindset Is Everything
How To Train Your Mind To Think Positive And Build Your Inner Strength
The way we look at the world is how it appears. If we’re in love, we see love everywhere. If we’re low on cash, all we see are price tags.
Our mindset shapes what we focus on and how we feel about what we’re experiencing. That, in turn, influences how we think about ourselves and the world. Understanding this is incredibly powerful because it allows you to become who you want to be in the world instead of continuing to feel like you’re living a little less boldly than you’d like.
Let me break this down to make it super clear:
If you’re in a negative mindset, where you are letting your intrusive thoughts win, it will have a real impact on your future. Because if you go around telling yourself you aren’t capable and your value is low, you will act as if that’s true. And when you act as if that’s true, that’s all the rest of the world has to go on. So, you’ll be treated the same way you are treating yourself.
On the other hand, if you live with a positive mindset, where you trust your judgment, believe in your ability to achieve, and move with comfortable and confident body language, then the tables turn quickly. People will see you as a strong, trustworthy, and capable person and treat you with the same level of respect you treat yourself.
After reading that, you’re probably thinking, “That sounds great, but how am I supposed to flip that mental switch so easily?” You’re not. Like anything worthwhile, learning to live with a positive mindset takes practice and consistency. It doesn’t switch on like a light switch. It fades in over time.
How to start training your mindset:
Take a mental note when you catch yourself thinking negative thoughts. Notice them arising in your mind.
See the truth, which is that those thoughts aren’t based on anything real. They are simply old thinking habits that have yet to be rewritten.
Recognize that those thoughts are a mental story that is impacting you negatively. Decide to take charge of your mental narrative by choosing to rewrite the story you are telling yourself about reality.
Replace the negative thoughts about yourself with positive thoughts. Instead of thinking, “I’m not good enough.” tell yourself, “I’m going to crush this.” Instead of thinking, “No one likes me.” tell yourself, “People always find me charismatic.”
Every time a negative thought about yourself arises, simply swap it out for a positive one and reinforce your belief in yourself.
Shifting your mindset like this may seem too simple and easy to be effective. But I assure you, it isn’t. It works. As we discussed earlier, life is all about the energy and self-belief you show up with. By taking charge of your mental narrative instead of letting it run wild with fragments of conditioned negativity from your past, you are consciously magnifying the elements of yourself that are strong and removing the power from the self-defeating voice in your head.
The more you empower your whole Self with self-belief, the more you will feel the energy of strength rise in your body and mind. And when you can feel it, so can everyone around you. That’s why living with a positive mindset changes how you feel about yourself and the whole world in which you live.
