It's crazy how fast paced this world is. We're so caught up in chasing the unknown that we forget how important the little things in life are. Breathing, like you mentioned, is so powerful. It's a reminder of the beauty the present moment brings with its stillness. I try to wake up 5 minutes before my usual time only to sit and breathe in silence for a bit. It's so calming🧡
Deep breaths are my secret weapon before any impromptu talk. I've learned from Matt Abrahams (podcast host of Think Fast & Talk Smart) that one of the quick and effective ways to get comfortable for any impromptu speech is to label a talk as "conversation" and not a speech. A few calming inhales help me get there faster.
I have been practicing this in my business meetings as a new personal development life coach. It really does work! Taking a breath brings me back to the present moment & I remember what the heck I am actually talking about with my clients. I had this fear that if I paused for what felt like a long time from the perspective of my client that they would judge me but that was just an insecurity I had to work through. I find that the meetings where I slow down and actually speak with grace and confidence I have a better rapport and connection with my clients. That’s what the breath does for me.
Thank you so very much for this. I slightly gasped when I read the directive like "of course.. why don't we do this already?" And I'll surely be mindful of it going forward.
Thanks for sharing, I notice too when I pause and take 3 deep breaths down my spine I notice the changes instantly. Like you were trapped in a balloon then it popped. The freedom of releasing and letting go. I do this during work too when it gets busy and stressful with customers, I notice my breathing becomes heavy and my body goes into this stressful state then I begin to have negative thoughts. It's so powerful because it shifts your focus immediately then your physiology changes with it.
The power of pausing, sometimes I go inside my spine going up and down from the crown & the root. Withdrawing from all senses, just even for a moment. ❤️

Priming & centering is so vital ❤️
This is harder to do then it sounds. We get so caught up in our lives that we forget the value of conscious breathing.
But it’s a necessary cure friend
Cory, your writing elevates your soul to Hankins levels of peace. Thank you for the words! 🩵🎙️
Sup Alex, nice to see you here. 🙌
Glad to see you too! Hey, would love to have you on a letter edition!
This is so timely. Thank you, Cory!

Wild how the most apparent things are the hardest to see 🖤
Classic and simple. Thanks for the reminder. It’s mentioned often in recovery circles: pause when agitated.
