I think it becomes seemingly more difficult to be patient for an extended period of time, regardless of meditations and how much you try to take the high road. Dealing with passive aggressive behavior, action with ulterior motives that you’re aware of, in an overstimulated state, it’s difficult not to react, but I can agree taking a step back before engaging is the smarter thing to do.

Such a powerful article. Being able to hold a calm energy in a reactive world is a beautiful act of emotional maturity. Much easier said than done but so valuable to practice

Dear Cory,

Thank you for this!

Love this: "You have the power to choose calm when others expect a reaction."

And this: "What outcome do I want and how can I be clear, kind, and grounded?”

And the rest of it!

Thank you for sharing as always!

Love

Myq

So much great advice in this article.

We’ve all had bad days or moments.

Relating to other people as we would have them relate to us in our bad moments is a superpower

Thanks for this Cory

Calm is my natural superpower - does not mean I don't sometimes paddle frantically under the surface but oh my - how different everyday situations (especially work) have become since I decided I need more self care, less stress and the courage to be me

I resonated a lot with this piece, particularly "Space to respond from your values instead of your triggers." Just a few seconds can make a tremendously powerful difference. Thank you for sharing.

I have been practicing this for 2 years now and trust it does work, but some days you can react and I did on the freeway. I did catch myself and was a little angry that I let someone I didn't know take me out of my character. But I loved the article and will continue to keep on protecting my mental peace and stillness. Thank You for the article.

Great reminders, thank you for that. It made me recall some playful, yet instructive banter with a friend. I had popped off with some zinger. She asked, "Should I be offended?" I replied, "If you want to go to the trouble." She said, "Nah." Not worth the energy spent. If only that could happen in more serious exchanges, eh?

You’re so right. πŸ’―

Staying calm and being patient is easier when you come from a place of love and compassion. Understanding why people do what they do, gives you a comprehension of what the other person is enduring. After all, majority of people in this world act from a place of nobility πŸ˜‡
