I remember the joy of becoming more self aware and the frustration of realizing awareness was only the beginning of a long, arduous, but fulfilling, journey of health.
A big aha moment for me in life and business can be summed up by this one phrase “slow is smooth and smooth is fast.” When we can slow down and bring awareness to our thoughts and feelings we can understand what is driving us. This is something that I advise my coaching and advisory clients to do regularly. Slow down, think/journal and talk it over and notice what comes up.
Absolutely! Thank you for shedding light on a common misconception about mindfulness. Mindfulness isn't an instantaneous growth hack. Change doesn't happen overnight. Rather, it's a deeply meaningful and rewarding experience that, when practiced consistently and deliberately, has immense power to improve your life, mindset, and wellbeing.
But, like anything that is truly rewarding in life, it requires time and effort. Each little moment of mindfulness adds up, though. Each day that you practice, you hone your mindfulness skills that much more. Great takeaway; I enjoyed reading this piece :)
“Once you start paying closer attention to what you’re saying and doing and how you’re responding rather than reacting to life, you’ll start to see yourself with greater clarity”
Loved this! Such great advice and a lovely read! Thanks for sharing!
Just by chance, I was also commenting on this last days on the same thing you’re pointing out. A big part of the improvement mindfullness has given me, in terms of that same awareness you pointed out, is a pleasent relieve and a life changer. Being silent longer, apart from slowing down, is also something that has helped dramatically with the development of expression, in a diligent way. Thanks, Cory, your writing is always appreciated.
often, the focus of mindful change is in the becoming forgetting that which already is - something I trip on regularly, the ideal vs the real. thank you for this reminder
Yes!! Self awareness - and giving ourselves the space and quiet to listen - is so key to personal growth. Loved this piece! Thank you.
Glad I came across this piece.

Cause and effect. We always have the opportunity to influence the next moment. This was a big lesson for me.

Well said, Cory. We have the most influence over our lives and we can never forget that.

So true, something I need to apply better in my own life
This speaks volumes to me. I am going through this process little by little.
Beautiful ✨🙏
Great read. So simple yet something I never quite got the hang of nor really tried. My impatience took over but your reminder is what I needed! Thanks
